SE offensive showed teeth against Metz. Montpellier has just collected a total of 1 goal against last season’s 3 best but was last fortunate and weakened enough on the leftback where Hamouma could create a ravage. At the other end, SE is weakened and the team is dangerous.

SE have closed goals in the last 3 matches; 5 in total – including 1-2-loss at Troyes, there was 10 to 11 in most of the match.
SE must like Metz last weekend without defense commander Perrin (replacing Pogba is probably still incompetent *) and the back Gabriel.
The SE offensive with the great potential showed some of it with 3-1 (including burned punishment) over Metz. Especially right wing Hamouma was hoping.
Centerforward Diony was pale again, but Söderlund replaced him well when he came in. The North man may well start now.
Montpellier’s strong left back Roussillon is probably new absence and is replaced by the heavy center defender Congré who made a big mistake against Nice.
Here Montpellier was lucky to keep the goal clean (ie luck + goalkeeper Lecomte) – for Nice had several big chances.
At the other end, Montpellier scored 2 good goals, by dribbling Sessegnon and attacking / left-hand trimmer Mbenza, who may start inside now.
Montpellier has just met No. 2 (PSG), 1 (Monaco) and 3 from last season and scored 5 points: self-confidence. There was also an assault in the 1-1 show in Monaco.
Keep an eye on that
Two of the league’s very best keepers: routine Ruffier at SE and Montpellier Lecomte who has had a nice season, most recently a big game against Nice.
Montpellier gets the strong central defender Mendes back after 1 match absence.
The club might very much like making 3 defenders like in the 3 previous matches – it has been excellent.
The team played 0-0 against PSG (which, however, lacked Neymar) and 1-1 against Monaco. And kept Nice from scoring.
SE (3-2-0 home) scored 2 and 3 in the last 2 home matches, but manager Garcia has generally been unable to meet the offensive potential.
Blue. due to a center forward problem: Bamba is good, but due to contractual problems. Diony has not scored yet.
The capable box for boxing midfielder Dabo – good match against Nice – is probably out; has not been training since the Metz match.
