The Russian coach has for the first time selected for this rally the nugget of CSKA, Fyodor Chalov, and the Brazilian naturalized Ari, given the shortage in attack but Chalov did not have any time of play in Germany. Only good news for Russia, his top scorer Dzyuba (Zenit) is back.
In the first leg, both selections were neutralized in Russia (0-0).
