Toronto is MLS champion in the previous season, but one who started the season with two defeats, 0-2, home with Columbus Crew, and 0-1, away, with Montreal Impact. So no goal scored in the championship. But the Canadian band had to make some not very comfortable roads in the CCL, hence the disappointing results of the MLS, but at least it qualified in the semifinals.
